Happy holidays, Reader!
Before I hop on a plane to spend time with family (and devour some lumpia!), I just had to tell you something.
Every week, 523 of you open these emails – that's 14 full classrooms of wonderful humans making space for me in their inbox. As a teacher-by-trade, that number hits different. What a privilege. You're giving me the gift of your time, and believe me, you've got a permanent place in my heart.
Between running a business, battling skunks, and squeezing in holiday gatherings, my couch has been calling. And while I'm answering that call (hello, Barry binge-watch!), I'm also reminded that we are more than just dreamers or entrepreneurs or spouses or personal cheerleaders - we are mirrors.
Even when you think what you do doesn't hold much weight, whether you're cursing at another "unsuccessful" garden experiment or not seeing traction on Instagram, someone's watching. You are showing them what's possible. They see your courage to do something differently. And you might have inspired them to be a better mirror themselves.
I'm also using this cozy season to reflect and dream big for 2025. From my home to yours, I hope you have a laughter-filled, restful week that fills you with exactly what you need to grow i
Here's to rest, reset, and you🥂

Finding your perfect color palette can be simple! First, create a Pinterest board of images that you love (right next to your 2025 vision board, right?). Screenshot it and ask AI to analyze it like a brand strategist. It'll suggest color combos that capture your vision. And voilà – you've got an authentically palette!

My Favorite Lettuce
There's something magical about harvesting fresh lettuce from the garden! After all those food shows this week, I couldn't resist making buffalo chicken wraps with my homegrown greens. My heart is so happy watching this season's favorites thrive – the crispy Great Lakes 118 and the tender Black Seeded Simpson. They're bringing so much joy to my winter garden. It's so nice to actually enjoy it before they start bolting in the Spring.

05. Community Corner: Inside Digital Garden Gi

Q: from @highlyviktory
"How can I blend multiple areas of interests into one personal brand and make income from it?"
A: from Cam
Great question! When it comes to personal branding, most of us feel like we have to put our passions in a box or only share a curated piece of who we are (guilty!). Can we talk about something beautiful for a moment? There's only one YOU – your experiences, your passions, your journey – they all add up to create something completely unique. Just like no two gardens grow exactly the same, no two brands should either!
That's why finding your FOCUS factor is so important before you start planting those business seeds. Let me share this framework that changed everything for me:
- Foundation: The heart of what you do and how you do it (example: Like creating botanical illustrations with watercolors!)
- Others: The wonderful humans you serve (Think: urban homesteaders craving personalized touches in their space)
- Context: Your unique corner of the world (Maybe you're selling custom designs across America)
- Understand: The transformation your people are craving (Helping others bring nature's beauty indoors)
- Season: Why your work matters right now (In a world of mass-produced everything, we're craving meaningful, personal pieces)
-
Here's your fill-in-the-blank magic: "I'm the only [FOUNDATION] for [OTHERS] in [CONTEXT] who want [UNDERSTAND] in an era of [SEASONS]."
The example in action: "I am the only botanical watercolor painter for urban homesteaders in America who want custom designs to bring nature's beauty indoors in an era where people crave meaningful, personal pieces, instead of mass-produced generic art."
Beautiful, right? See? Who else is going to do that? P.S. Since this is only an example, if this is your vibe, you should do it!
When you're clear about your FOCUS, everything flows naturally – your offers, your content, your community. It's not about limiting your passions; it's about letting them bloom together in a way that feels authentically you.
Take a cozy moment this week to play with this framework. I'd love to hear what you discover!
