Happy Halloween, Reader!

Or, as I like to call it, “Happy almost-done-with-2024!”

Right now, I feel a little like I’m on an episode of Fixer Upper…

After weeks of late nights, coffee refills, and more than a few a-ha moments, the new Digital Garden Girl website is ready to welcome you home.

But let me tell you, the path here wasn’t a leisurely garden stroll or a quick fix edited into a 43-minute episode. It took time, elbow grease, and a good bit of soul-searching.

And the relief is *finally* here.

If building or refreshing your website makes you feel like you’re stuck in the weeds, you’re not alone. The daydreaming stage is cozy, but reality can feel demotivating. I get it – the “am I doing this right?” moments, the urge to hand it all over to someone else.

That’s exactly why I made this behind-the-scenes video: a no-fluff walk through of my entire website process. It’s all there, step-by-step, to help you create a site that’s not only you but also grows toward your business goals like the garden you love.

If you’re ready to stop spinning your wheels and finally make that website vision come to life, this video is your seed starter. I’ve laid it all out, step by step, to help you start 2025 with a website you can be proud of.

In my perfect world, I’d help you find just one small step toward the freedom you’re dreaming of – because creating your business and brand ecosystem should feel like coming home. And your website is part of that. Once we get that figured out, how about we spend the rest of the day in the garden?

The binge-worthy business resources

“Copy” – those magic words that guide your community toward their goals, your website, or engaging with your posts – works even harder than visuals.

Sure, my website is chef’s kiss from colors to fonts, but the best part? The copy.

Maybe it’s the English teacher in me, but words matter. In this podcast episode, Tori Autumn - a self-love coach to conversion copywriter - breaks down how to drastically improve your website and email copy - even if’s not your jam.

02. The Branding Bench

Quick, easy tips to refresh and elevate your brand

You know I’m all about letting simplicity speak volumes. And simple clear visuals are what you need.

How to make a personalized digital product mock-up in Canva:

Open Canva > Select Mock Up Template > Add Your Product Image (send layer back) > Add Lummi.ai background

Why does this matter for your business? When it comes to online stores, simple product visuals do the heavy lifting. If you have a strong product (whether it’s an ebook, virtual coaching, or online course), you want it to be the focus of the show… not the background noise. Clutter-free images help customers zero in on what matters, building trust and making it easy to picture using the product. It bridges the gap between screen and reality, creating confidence to hit “buy.”

03. Soul-Saving Tech Tools

Time-saving tech to free up your schedule

Trello is my favorite free tool for organizing all those random, late-night ideas. A colleague introduced it for classroom and case management to-dos, but now I use it for my business brainstorms too. (Shout out to all my fellow Special Education teachers!)

When inspiration hits, I jot it down and map out ways to repurpose it into website headlines, email subjects, Instagram hooks, blog posts… you name it. Talk about chaos to clarity.

04. A Glimpse from the Garden

Your weekly dose of garden therapy + Cam's Cutthroat Kitchen

Inspired by Tanya Holland’s California Soul Cookbook (truly the most beautiful cookbook I’ve ever had my hands on), I’ve gone ahead and blended up my very own collard green pesto from last season’s harvest sitting in my freezer!

All the Ingredients You Need:

  • 1 bunch of collard greens, chopped and ribs removed
  • ½ cup of basil
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • ¼ cup of parmesan (optional)
  • ½ lemon of juice
  • ⅓ cup of cashews + pistachio mix
  • ½ cup of olive oil (add as needed)
  • Salt + pepper
